By talking about a $100 Million Mosque, while holding $18,000 in hand.
By being in partnership with Jamal Barzinji who founded the 9/11 mosque Dar al-Hijrah in Falls Church VA., which is run by the pro-jihad Muslim Brotherhood, and has been tied to numerous terrorism plots (Ft Hood, and Christmas Day bomber, and the 9/11 attacks).
By turning down all offers of other sites by well-meaning public officials seeking to defuse a horrendous situation.
Without money Rauf can't build anything. The big money here would come from the Saudis, proabaly 3/4's of the cash.
But I don't think the Saudis will touch this one.
They don't want the many many FBI investigations and CIA/DIA/NSA investigations that their donations would give rise to.
None of this would happen while Obama (who bows to the Saudi King) is President, but the Saudis are starting to realize that even Obama knows he's not getting a second term.
So money they give now could stimulate very comprehensive and detailed investigations in 2013, which is not that far away.
The other big money that Rauf could hope to raise would come from Hamas, the Kuds Force, the Iran Revolutionary Guards, Sistani, possibly the Pakistani ISI, Al Qaida, and the Taliban.
Even Obama -- the man who swore he would uphiold our national security -- will not be comfortable allowing that kind of money to flow into USA to build a "mosque" in a national security sensitive area.
I don't care if Obama puts on a turban, wears a Jalabiyah, and turns the West Wing into a tent, he still knows that if Hamas or Al Qaida money flows in to the Cordoba House project he will be impeached, and convicted in the Senate and thrown out of office, and as bold and brash and rash as he is, even Obama does not want to be fired in disgrace.
He doesn't want to make Southside Chicago "look bad".
My question to which I seek an answer is "Has Rauf overplayed his hand?"
Is a seven figure book deal the best thing he can hope to get at this point?
"How the Infidels Squashed my Mosque -- Poor Me!" (coming soon to a bookstore near you).|||Its possible.though he doesn't have the cash on hand, their are many radicals that would give their left nut to build on ground zero, just as they do on anything they believe they conquered or a battle they have won.
Me personally, believe it is a somewhat ruse to stir the pot(in The U.S.) probably for political reasons to paint the right as racists, but its not working.
If they do build it(and they have the right to do so Constitutionally) I believe they ought to have hundreds of people fly remote control model aircraft into it daily and by the hundreds.
