I'd like to have a career in the video game design business-specifically, I would like to start and manage my own video game company. What should I study in college if I want to do this, and what skills will I need? I'm thinking of studying business administration, would that be the right way to go? Or should I go with simply something related to game design, i.e. computer science?

If you want to start your own business, i would recommend studies in administration and marketing. I also recommend you get summer jobs in the video game industry to really get how it works as the underground world related to it is very important to understand (i.e the production cycles, deadlines, summer rushes, game submission to constructors, etc.) Being a video game tester is a good way to get your first contacts in the industry. You can progress in it as a project manager and so forth during your years of college, letting you start with experience and contact when you'll be done.What do I need to start and manage a video game company?lets see im guessing lots of money to start out with cause you need some equipment and people with programing/tech experience you could start online and work you way up but have a backup plan because in history only half of all companies make it to the big contracts b4 goin bankrupt
