What are the arguments that poker is a game of chance? While there is a huge aspect of chance in any hand of poker, there is a fair amount of skill because of the interactions with other players. It isn't like other games like craps or black jack where you are playing against a certain set of rule, in poker you play against players and humans are unpredictable at best. The ability to read other players or make others believe you have one set of cards when really you don't is where the skill aspect of the game comes into play.

It is very possible to be playing Holdem and have 7-C 2-S win a hand against a 7-H 8-H with an board of Q-D J-D 10-D 9-C 4-D by making the person who has a straight already think that you have the flush when you don't.|||There are no valid arguments that I've heard. Whatever rulings have been made were made by people who lacked knowledge of poker and/or statistics.
