Loan Guarantees, Cash for Clunkers, and the propping up of the secondary parts market by sustaining the industry in general. While the assistance Ford received was not as 'heroic' as Chrysler and GM - there are fords being made and sold today that would not be had the government not stepped in to help.



If 2 of 20 American Auto companies are about to go under - the market says let them go. But when 2 of 3 are about to go under common sense says to intervene. Now you do forget that Ford Credit is over half of the Ford company and they did get a direct bail out. Cash for Clunkers gave me a good bit of taxpayer money without having to pay it back to.
