Should i transfer to loyola university in chicago from UIC?

I've been worried recently about the reputation of the current college I attend, University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). I applied to both Loyola and UIC but ended up deciding to go to UIC because the tuition and housing are half of what I would have to pay if i went to Loyola. Also, when I visited both schools it didn't seem like there was a huge difference in the education quality between the two. Private schools are known to "pamper" their students more than public ones, but that's not what I'm worried about.

My worries basically come down to whether having a diploma from UIC will be perceived as less "valuable" than a diploma from Loyola. Is this generally true? NOTE: I plan to go on and get at least a Masters degree, but that won't be from either one of these schools, right now I'm just completing my Bachelors degree.Should i transfer to loyola university in chicago from UIC?
When you have earned a master's degree, no one will care where you earned the undergraduate degree.

Graduation from UIC will not be a problem for master's degree program admission.
Both schools are rated about the same. However, UIC is a stronger research and medical school. At the end of the day, school reputation is not that important in terms of getting a job. It is experience. The key to acceptance to a Masters program is good grades, good LORs and good GRE/GMAT etc scores.

Debt is a big issue for you if you plan to go to grad school. Long term, that is a bigger issue than the name of the school.Should i transfer to loyola university in chicago from UIC?
Loyola might have higher admission standards than UIC, but it's not really one of those schools where Corporate recruiters are beating down the doors to acquire talent. Also, if you are planning on going to grad school, a high GPA and solid GRE score will enable you to get into a decent program.

College is what you make of it. If you do well at UIC, that will open doors for you.
Going to UIC may seem as if it has lower standards--But did you know that UIC has the number 1 medical school in the country? Or the 4th pharmacy? and 3rd Dental? The buildings are old, outdated, but the ranks speak for themselves.Should i transfer to loyola university in chicago from UIC?
Both of UIC and Loyola are fine universities. I have visited both campuses too. Personally I would choose UIC because it's a better value. I don't think you can make much of a case to choose Loyola unless you need the "pampering" you mentioned.(Private colleges usually have smaller class sizes allowing for remedial help to students-thus, sometimes a public university degree is actually considered more desirable because it is seen as a greater achievement %26amp; more difficult to obtain ). Even if you did not plan to attend another university for the masters, UIC makes more sense unless you had enough extra scholarship money to make Loyola cost less than UIC. Because Loyola is a private college, I believe you might also enjoy the UIC campus environment more.
