When he won his seat in Chicago (on his second try) it was because he took out his opponent by challanging every single signature on her nomination petitions. No "i" dotted..... not valid. No "t" crossed..... not valid. Printed......Not valid. He won because he ran unopposed.
Then Sarah came along and he sent his goons to Alaska. According to Palin advisor Meg Stapleton, (with regards to all the frivilous ethics charges), "A lot of this comes Washington, DC. The trail is pretty direct and pretty obvious to us. The anti Palin offensive seems lifted straight from "The Thumpin", which describes the poltcal strategies of Rahm Emaneul, who is now the White House chief of Staff. It's the Sarah Palin playbook. It's how they operate."
Palin and her Alaska circle find evidence for their suspicions about the Whtie House in the person of Pete Rouse, who lived in Juneau for a time before he became chief of staff to a young US Senator named Barack Obama. Rouse, they note, is a friend of former Alaska state senator Kim Elton, who pushed the first ethics investigation of Palin, examining her controversial firing of the state's public saftey commissioner. Both Rouse and Elton have joined the Obama Administration.
White House press secretary Robert Gibbs scofffed at the theory. "The charge is ridiculous," he said. Obviously there is no effort....From my vantage point, a lot of the criticism she is getting from others seems to be generated from self inflicted wounds."
Now Palin has resigned and people have been very quick to call her finished in politics.
Was Obama so scared of her in 2012 that he had to "take her out", just as he did his first opponant?

I LOVE IT.|||She has my support to the end.|||take her out? she quit.|||You may not know this, but Obama's other campaigns employed the very same strategy; opening up sealed divorce records of his adversaries and then having the media sensationalize what was found there. One quit - and he ran unopposed. The other suffered a decline in the polls in the wake of a 'generated' scandal. Of course, just as in the presidential campaign, Obama claimed he would not resort to politics of personal destruction. He knew he didn't have to; the media would do his dirty work in conjunction with Democrats such as those you mentioned - among others.
On the idea that he 'may have met his match' in Sarah Palin, you and I both know that it isn't just Obama and his political attack machine, but the media, colleges and universities, autoworker and teachers' unions, the entertainment industry, etc., etc. that worked to destroy her. They will all continue to do so. But there is hope.
When Sarah announced her resignation, she stated that she would actively pursue legal means if the slander continued. Since the media 'jumped the shark' with Obama, and more and more Americans are becoming aware of media bias, I said at the time that she was going to confront them, not cower. People laughed at the suggestion, but I honestly thought that this was a large part of her 'higher calling'; to expose them for who and what they are.
The media is going to pay for their bias - while claiming to be neutral observers. Their numbers are dropping like a rock already, as is their advertising revenue, causing many of them to fold. It would be great if Sarah served as an alternative to Obamanomics, etc. Better still would be to sweep what little credibility the liberal media has remaining from under them - and how better to do so than to have courts document the atrocities that they have, and will shamelessly continue, to commit against this woman and her family? Higher calling, indeed.|||Many people suspected the Alaska vendetta against Palin was orchestrated by the national democratic party. It was really dirty, about what one would expect from the dems. And the dems are no where near finished trying to discredit the republicans. The dems have this giant ticking time-bomb egg they want to lay that will explode our economy, and they need to make certain that any future alternative to the democratic party is discredited. I think it will get a lot dirtier than it has been.
Edit -- the good news is that the vast majority of U.S. citizens are conservative... socially, politically and fiscally. It will be interesting to see how the dynamics play out when this majority, now starting to realize it is being had by government control zealots, takes action.|||Apparently not... he's the preisdent of the US. Seems to be working out so far.
BTW, the woman in question was SLOPPY. That's why she would vulnerable to a review of her signatures. My state requires signatures on petitions to be reviews as a matter of course. I can't say I feel sorry for her.
