I've lived in California, Florida, Minnesota and am currently residing in Illinois right near Chicago! I do NOT like it here! The people are WAY too materialistic, no one I've met here cares about the environment or anything else for that matter besides fashion and money. I've always been sort of a drifter but have ALWAYS been drawn to Portland. I handle blueprints for a contracting company now but I'm not an architect. I do have many years of sales experience and working with non-profit organizations. Can anyone tell me if there's sales jobs and affordable housing in or around the Portland area? Also wondering what to do with my car. If I move should I take my vehicle with me or would public transportations suffice? Oh, and does it REALLY rain as much as everyone says? Any feedback you can give me will be very much appreciated! Peace %26amp; Love!
~Nicole|||In "normal" months it rains, and rains, and rains some more. Most people who reside in Portland just live with it.
The public transportation in Portland is excellent, but I would take your car and possibly sell it there, that way you have the option.
Look on the different employment web sites for jobs, you should get a pretty good idea. "Affordable" housing is relative, it's most likely less than the Chicago area.
Portland has a lot to offer,
Good luck|||Here's a good site for you if you're interested in moving here. This site even included a free online police scanner of the portland metro area.
good luck!|||It rains too much and there's waaaayyyy too much crime.
